Financial Accountant

Our client - an established membership organisation - is looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join their Finance and Business Performance team.

This is a full-time and permanent post.
Hybrid: home-working blended with working out of our client’s London offices.
Starting salary: ca £53k + good benefits

The role

The Financial Accountant role is designed to contribute to the production of statutory accounts and facilitate a smooth audit process. Additionally, the role involves ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, meeting deadlines, and engaging stakeholders effectively. You will play a key role in providing accurate financial reports and conducting meaningful business analysis to assist senior managers and budget holders in understanding performance and achieving KPI targets.
Moreover, the role encompasses assisting in the timely delivery of group month-end accounts and providing support for various projects and ad hoc business analysis requests.

Candidate profile

The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant and have experience in:

  • Accounting, including management accounts, statutory accounts, and current accounting standards for both companies and charities (Charities SORP)
  • Pension regulation
  • Statutory accounts production
  • VAT and Corporation Tax
  • Using Excel at advanced/intermediate level
  • Preparing management accounts, and financial reports
  • Analysing complex issues and producing clear analysis
  • Preparing balance sheet Reconciliations
  • Preparing statutory accounts
  • Preparing VAT returns, including partial exemption
  • Managing the financial audit process
  • Line Management experience.
