Events Manager (9 month contract - PAYE)

Are you an events professional, experienced in delivering an annual conference (or major headline event), alongside managing a diverse portfolio of smaller engagement events?

We’re looking for an organised, collaborative and innovative Events Manager, to join our client’s Events Team, on a fixed-term contract basis (to cover maternity leave).

About the Role

Our client is a professional membership organisation, based in central London.

This role includes line management responsibility for an Events Assistant

As the Events Manager, you will lead the planning and delivery of the flagship annual conference, ensuring it aligns with organisational goals and delivers an excellent experience for all participants.

Alongside the conference, you will support a broad events’ calendar: including: membership ceremonies, regional events, international meetings, dinners and ad-hoc engagement opportunities.

You will attend site visits before events, to ensure all requirements are met.

You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation (e.g such as marketing etc), to deliver i) strong promotional campaigns to ensure high attendance and ii) ensure high attendee engagement.

You will research and propose new virtual or hybrid event solutions.

You will also manage supplier relationships, procurement processes and negotiations.


Key facts

•             This is a full-time, fixed term contract – ca 9 months.

•             Starting salary: £37,000 p.a. (so pro rated for 9 month FTC)

•             Hybrid working arrangement – on average 2 days per week in the London office.

 

About You

Essential:

  • Experience delivering large-scale (1000+), complex conferences or events.
  • Background delivering events for professional membership organisations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Line-management experience, with the ability to motivate and support others.
  • Good understanding of project management approaches as applied to events.
  • Knowledge of current event-sector trends, innovations and best practice.
