Networking - the what, why, and how

Just writing that sentence feels good - stats show that most podcasts die very quickly, after just a few episodes, so it's heartening that we're still going strong (we've just completed season 4).

Our goal from the start has been to publish 'evergreen' material. Not quite literally - probably all content goes out of date eventually: but we certainly aim is to publish material that is good for a few years.

I test that by listening to episodes on their anniversary. Which brings me to the episode on Networking, published last April.

During the episode, Sherah Beckley and I covered perennial questions about networking:
  • what is it?
  • why do it?
  • and (with a quick dive into sociology) how to do it.
In the process, we sought to differentiate networking - true networking - from what we think it isn't, namely working the room or manipulating people.

I'm pleased to say that, to the best of judgment, the content has, to date, passed the evergreen test. The episode is available here.
